4/24/16: Due to my recent “freak-out” about what my career should be, I have been going back and forth between a few options. Two of which are an Art Therapist, or an Art Teacher. Both of these require going back to school some day. My tip from two current professionals was to wait and go back to
school after you have experience in life and with other jobs.
So as I decide what route would be best for me, I have decided to learn to draw – considering that skill would be needed for both of those professions! After all, I have many years to practice it before going back to school.
It has been a LONG time since I put pencil to paper to draw anything and I really want to work on drawing people. My friend, Emily, went to RIT for illustration. She is an amazing artist (Check out her website here) so I decided to ask for drawing lessons in exchange for InDesign lessons!
We have met up twice at our favorite coffee shop, Java’s. She gave me a lesson on the technique of drawing faces. As you can see, I have a ways to go but it is so exciting and ‘free’ to draw again.
To all the professional artists out there and talented artists, I would love any feedback! I realize I have a
ways to go until the faces are actually recognizable…
